And the story goes...

Humble beginnings...

It all started in 1996 with $400, lots of hope, doubt, and stubbornness.  Laura Renata Rubio came from a single mom household, where she learned the value of hard work and dedication.  That still didn't stop her from getting fired from most jobs, in fact, her mom was the first one to fire her at age 14 from a house cleaning job.  So she concluded she would be either homeless or self-employed.  She wisely chose the latter.

When Laura arrived in Taxco, Mexico, she thought people would roll out the red carpet for her and her $400.  Of course, the soap opera and soccer game didn't get turned off for such meager amount.  But she did come back to Denver with her loot, sold most of it, reinvested, and built relationships with artisan families she has relied on through the years.  These artisan families help create many of the beautifully crafted sterling silver designs that are displayed in stores as well as online. Now, more than 20 years later, the children of those families are now parents themselves, as they continue their tradition of creativity, quality and exceptional workmanship.

Walking into these workshops is essentially entering someone's home: a baby might be sleeping on a hammock, a mom may be nursing a baby and answering the phone.  The TV is usually on with soccer or some drama, a grandmother might be sweeping the sidewalk.  Of course, at lunch time the place is closed and if one happens to be there, it is customary to pull up a stool and share a meal.

Every aspect of Renata Rubio 92.5 is family oriented.  From the very personal friendships we've built with our artisan families, to the very rewarding and professional relationships we have with our clients.  We are all connected by our mutual desire to do well by doing good.  What is good for our clients is good for us, and good for our suppliers.  Like the links of a chain: everyone is essential for the process to be fair and complete.

We would love to hear from you.  Let us know how we can help.
